Massive and drop dead gorgeous!
This is a beyond rare and absolutely breath-taking, Maltese cross brooch that is heavily jeweled with shades of vivid sapphire, aquamarine, and frosted pale blue glass!
Attributed to Weiss circa 1960's era - unfortunately, we cannot locate a Weiss hallmark, however, it possesses all the properties of Weiss jewelry from this era and was verified as such by a professional dealer and evaluator. A true museum-quality piece if there ever was one!
Quite nearly flawless for such an early piece and enormous at 3 1/4" on all sides!
It is decadent and just pure perfection in all aspects - from design aesthetic, to craftsmanship and the stunning placement of jewels, not to mention the all glass crystals/rhinestones: ranging from the center very vivid, high mounted sapphire blue glass round prong set set stone with slightly paler yet very vivid aquamarine baguettes trimming the entire piece, marquise cut stones in between each arm of the cross in a seafoam green gemstone color, and gorgeous all glass frosted pale blue stones, enhanced finally with tiny clear/champagne pave glass crystals in round cuts - no detail was overlooked on this regal, byzantine and very luxurious piece!
