Signed LEDESMA Sterling Fish Vintage Estate Earrings - Taxco Mexican Silver
These gorgeous vintage earrings are made of sterling silver. They have a modernist abstract fish design.
The background is oxidized to make the pattern stand out.
They are the old screw on screwback type of earrings and measure slightly over 1 1/16” both ways.
One earring is signed LEDESMA (mark is partial and also obscured by the earring screw as seen) and has the eagle mark with the number 3 inside - on the other earring, I can make out MEXICO and 925.
The weight is about 13.7 grams.
Good vintage condition with light age wear.
Enrique Ledesma worked for William Spratling at Taller de Las Delicias, and also with Hector Aguilar at Taller Borda before starting his own shop around 1950.
